Because of the many societal and technological changes that prevail today, the location of the agent has become irrelevant to the quality of advice, service or pricing you will receive when selecting a long term care policy. What does matter is the experience, knowledge and industry specific accomplishments of the agent you are dealing with, regardless of where they live.
Some folk may feel more comfortable to know their agent lives a few miles away, but here’s the reality. Agents come and go frequently, most especially in this industry. Job opportunities, promotions or career changes, divorce or personal circumstance factors will almost assuredly result in either you or the agent moving elsewhere at some time or another. In this day and age, location thus becomes secondary to the actual Insurance Company that is protecting you.
